PRESIDENT - DR. NICOLE L. THOMPSON
Dr. Nicole L. Thompson is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and CEO of Bethesda Behavioral Health Services, LLC. She has experience in working in insurance, crisis intervention, overview of transition of care services, conducting clinical assessments, working with children, adolescents, couples, families, and adults through individual, group services, in home, correctional, and clinical settings. She specializes in sex and love addiction as well as multicultural education. She earned her Doctor of Education in Counselor Education and Supervision at Argosy University, Chicago. Her dissertation focused on counselor educators’ perceptions of teaching cultural competencies. She also received her Master of Arts in Community Counseling at Argosy University, Chicago after completing her undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

PRESIDENT ELECT - DR. DENA HIGH-ROGERS
Dr.
High-Rogers (prefer Dr. Rogers) has been teaching for Chicago State University
(CSU) in Spring 2009. She is currently a Counselor Educator teaching in the Clinical
Mental Health Counseling & School Counseling program. Dr. Rogers received
her bachelor’s degree from Chicago State University in Psychology, her Master’s
degree in Community Counseling from Chicago State University, and her doctorate
degree in Counseling Education & Supervision from Argosy University-Chicago
Campus.
Dr.
Rogers has over 14 years of experience as a therapist and 3 years of experience
supervising clinicians. Dr. Rogers has extensive experience working with
children and families coping with trauma, and trauma-focused grief. Dr. Rogers
has experience working with children & families in partnership with DCFS
counseling pre-adoption, post-adoption, and ward-of-the-state families. Dr. Rogers
briefly worked with teen-offenders on electronic monitoring, probation, and
post-incarceration. Dr. Rogers prides herself on having a happy and successful
marriage which leads to her passion on building and maintaining healthy relationships/partnerships/marriage.
Dr. Rogers believes in investing in your marriage/partnership though
counseling, retreats, and coaching. Dr. Rogers has done all of the above work
in an individual, couples, group, family, face-to-face, and virtual settings.

PRESIDENT ELECT ELECT/SECRETARY - DR. LATOYA L. PATTERSON
Dr.
La Toya L Patterson is a native and current resident of Chicago, Illinois. Dr.
Patterson attended Roosevelt University, where she received her BA in
Psychology and MA in Clinical Professional Psychology. She has a MA in Forensic
Psychology with a concentration in Law Enforcement from Argosy University. Dr.
Patterson also received her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from
Adler University. Dr. Patterson is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
(LCPC), and she is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She has about 12 years
of experience working in the mental health/counseling field. Dr. Patterson has
worked for various mental health organizations where she provided individual
counseling to individuals that suffered from moderate to severe mental health
conditions as well as substance abuse/dependency. She also worked for a local
insurance company on the Ready Response Team, where she provided resources for
individuals experiencing mental health crises. Dr. Patterson is currently an
Assistant Professor at Chicago State University, where she teaches master-level
students in the CMHC program, and she also has her own private practice in
counseling.

TREASURER and MEMBERSHIP CHAIR - JAMESA PRUITT
Jamesa Pruitt, A God-fearing, woman
of faith, A wife, A mother and an aspiring Therapist. Jamesa born and raised on the South side of
Chicago, she currently resides in the south Suburbs. She holds a M.A. in Movement Therapy &
Counseling, L.P.C. and in the process of obtaining her LCPC.
Jamesa prides herself on being an
advocate for those that are less fortunate, a voice for those who are
over-looked due to a disability, and a liaison to all who are in need of
services and support. She has a
background in working with young adults, adults, geriatric population and those with various mental illness and medical
concerns.
Having a focus in dance and health
& fitness, she utilizes an integrated holistic approach to therapy which
also consist of CBT, DBT and humanistic.
She has experience in individual as well as group therapy.
When she has down time, Jamesa has an
interest in animals, enjoy tasting vegetarian dishes; loves participating in
Zumba class and likes to travel; however, she is a homebody at heart.
Jamesa lives by her philosophy Jeremiah
1:9-10 and it is this foundation that she encourages others to look at every
situation as if they are already victorious.

NEWSLETTER AND WEBSITE COMMITTEE CHAIR - LADWINA RUDOLPH
Ladwina Rudolph is a Licensed Professional Counselor and in the process
of obtaining her LCPC. She is the
Director of Crisis and Outreach at Sertoma Centre, Inc. in Matteson,
Illinois. She was born and raised on the
south of Chicago, currently residing in the south suburbs. She has over 15 years’ experience working in
mental health agencies, working in the capacity of case manager, outreach worker, substance
abuse coordinator, social service director, and assistant administrator. She
has experience working with adults that struggle with substance abuse
dependency, severe mental disorders and dementia.
She obtained her bachelor degree in Sociology at DePaul University, MA in
clinical counseling, specialization in addiction from the Chicago School of
Professional Psychology. She started her
doctoral journey at Argosy University and is now at Walden University
completing her doctoral degree in Counseling, Education, and Supervision.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT LIAISON - LAUREN MILLER
Lauren E Miller, MSc, MSW, LSW, ( pronouns She/Her/Hers) is a therapist with the In-Power Program at Howard Brown (one of Chicago’s largest LGBTQ+ organizations). Lauren is a licensed Social Worker, whose practice areas include domestic violence, sexual assault and youth empowerment. Lauren has a MSW from The University of Chicago and a Masters of Science (MSc) I’m Gender, Rights and Development Studies, from the University of Glasgow, Scotland U.K. Lauren has worked/interned for Amnesty International, UNIFEM, Resilience, Metropolitan Family Services and The Network.

PAST PRESIDENT - DR. NATHANIEL GILHAM, LCPC
Dr. Gilham has been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois since 1996 and practiced primarily in the south suburban area of Chicago. He is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Training for the Masters of Art’s in the Clinical Mental Health at Argosy Chicago. In addition Dr. Gilham has been an educator at Argosy since 2007 and teaches courses in both the Masters and Doctoral Programs; his primary focus is Couples and Family Counseling, Practicum and Internship, Advance Clinical Practice, and Clinical Supervision. From 1996 – 2015 he and his wife, Cathy Gilham, LCSW, were cofounders of Family Counseling Institute. He continues to maintain a private practice in Homewood, Illinois and focuses solely on couples counseling. Dr. Gilham earned his bachelor’s degree at Loyola University in Chicago. He received his Masters of Art’s at Northeastern Illinois University and his doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Argosy-Chicago. He maintains memberships in the American Counseling Association, and the Illinois Counseling Association. He has been a presenter at the annual conferences of ICA, and the IAMC with his students and faculty. As a member of the faculty at Argosy Dr. Gilham emphasizes social justice and multicultural competencies when training new counselors, mentoring students, or developing field supervisors.
